Thursday, the Lincoln owners who drove their cars spent the day on a countryside tour of the picturesque Kalamazoo area surrounding The Gilmore Car Museum. More owners and cars arrived Friday and headed out on a second countryside tour returning to the Gilmore for a barbeque dinner that was attended by more than 350 faithful Lincoln motorcar enthusiasts.
On Saturday the attendance at the Gilmore grew to over 400 who gathered for the preview of the new Lincoln Motor Car Heritage Museum and the official Grand Opening Celebration. The day was spent previewing the museum’s collection and sharing the experience of the wide variety of Lincoln cars present at the event. Jack Eby, the chair of the Lincoln Motor Car Foundation, made a champagne toast with everyone assembled to witness the ribbon-cutting at the main door of the museum. The celebration continued into the evening with a gala dinner to mark the outstanding achievement of the four Lincoln Car clubs responsible for creating the Lincoln Motor Car Foundation and the new Lincoln Motor Car Heritage Museum.
